The Beginning of a New News Reporting Concept

Please forward this to everyone on your mailing list. It is not a solicitation for $. It is exciting news about the launching of a fantastic new Internet concept that could revolutionize the way that we get our news. You could have a hand in launching the next Google / EBay / Yahoo / or Youtube kind of success story. If you want to be kept in the know on how this progresses let me know. Those who pitch in now will be offered a chance later to take part in the business launching. I repeat I do not want your $. I need you to help spread the word.

NEWS FLASH!

Local News People
... news business in the making!

by Randy Hurst (LNP)
Maryville, Tennessee (07/07/07)

People around the world are gambling that 07/07/07 will increase their odds of winning today; be it in marriage, the slots, or the lotto. But honestly, we all know that good luck goes hand in hand with imaginative thinking and hard work. If you are that kind of person, today could mark the beginning of your luck changing. No matter when you read this, today could be your lucky day!

Based on the philosophy that news should be "for the people and by the people", a local Maryville business man picked today to launch a new concept in news gathering and distribution. You could be one of the insightful and adventurous people selected worldwide to become a freelance reporter for http://www.localnewspeople.com/.

What is Local News People?

...Volunteers reporting news as it happens from their home towns. If you have an interest in reporting the news from where you live, we need you. The news media as it exists is controlled by big money and each major source has distinguishable political slants. They pick what is important to broadcast for you. Local News People will democratize the news. We would hope that good news would become popular again, though we know that breaking emergency information and of course sensationally bad news will have to be a part of what we report. Don't feel like your story has to be earth shattering. Most of the people that we have surveyed for interest in this concept would truly enjoy getting updates on what's happening in their hometowns. Our strongest emphasis, though, will be getting the stories quickly. If the event is happening now near you, you can be there before a TV crew from the local network gets there. We can post it as it happens. We will also be more inclined to report all the news, not just what a biased editor who is looking for and protecting advertising dollars determines is newsworthy.

News Marketing could mean $$$ in your pocket:

If we (you) scoop a story we will offer it to the major media sources for a price. We will share the proceeds with you (our reporter) 50/50. Why would you go through us rather than directly to the major media? We will have the contact people in place to market your stories as well as be informed and trained in negotiating the best price for your story. 50% of what we earn together will likely be more than a 100% of what you would be offered without our professional assistance. As the company grows and becomes profitable a percentage of the profits (yet to be determined) will be distributed to the reporters (based on the # of hits per story).

Identity:

The website name has been secured: http://www.localnewspeople.com/.
We have also secured
http://www.localnewsnow.net/ as a sister site.
This site,
localnewspeople.blogspot.com, will be our behind the scenes communication portal for the time being. Of course the lines are open for your comments and suggestions. Please email me: localnewspeople@aol.com

Local News People will become an international clearinghouse for local news. Our concept theme is "News for the People by the People". Through a volunteer network we will develop quality and professionally presented (as possible) reporting; so, through simple on line workshops we will offer training on how to objectively and creatively report items of interest from your locality to the rest of the world.

Once selected and trained as a contributor, there are several ways you will be able to implement your newscasting:

You can video tape your report - upload it to an Internet site like YOUTUBE, then send us the link.

You can start a news blog similar to this one, and send us news updates through links to the blog.

Or you can just email us your story and let us post it on our site.
The home page will simply be a map of the world. We will list stories as they come in. You can also search for a locality and if there is news nearby, a list will pop up.

What will differentiate us from any other news media source. It will be news as it happens, told by people who are there, because it matters to them, without political bias.

Who We Need Now:

If you have an interest in getting in on the ground floor of this new concept, please email localnewspeople@aol.com and tell us what you can do to help design, promote, or facilitate the implementation of this exciting new opportunity.
